Magazine Worthy – the room that went ‘up in lights’!

Trista designed her daughter Willow’s room to evoke emotions ‘I really like to create spaces that feel a certain way'....AND proof was in the pudding that following your heart pays off with Willow’s room being featured in the Winter edition of ‘Minty Magazine’ this year and continues to feature across a myriad of social media platforms as #inspo for childrens interiors.

Trista describes her style as diverse yet gentle and calming as she speaks to the importance of following your heart rather than following trends. ‘When creating the space I wanted to take items from Willow’s nursery as a newborn and move them into a toddler space’. 'I really love allowing a bedroom to become more than just a space a child sleeps in so I will usually zone the space into quarters'. To inspire Willow's imagination and love of animals, Trista chose Little Rae Print’s as the perfect addition for the walls above her play corner. She chose to feature Carousel Swan and Carousel Unicorn - both in 50 x 70cm as a statement size. ‘Willow has just really started to let her imagination run wild.  What I love is that Willow will point to the art pieces (Little Rae Prints) and identify items within them. It allows her mind to get creative. They are beautiful pieces for her beautiful mind!

Her five ‘can’t live without items for a childs room are:

  1. Beautiful ART  (Trista used Little Rae Prints 50 x 70cm Carousel Collection as a feature)
  2. Monitor – ‘I love allowing Willow time to play along while observing her on the monitor’.
  3. Comfortable reading corner
  4. Storage Boxes for toys
  5. A blanket that comes everywhere

‘What I love most about the space is seeing Willow in it. The moment I walk into Willows room when she wakes up and I am greeted with the biggest smile. Followed by the biggest hug that just projects the amount of love she has for me.’
